Leading online lotto operator, Lottoland, has announced that a lucky winner in Germany scooped Friday’s (1st June 2018) EuroJackpot top prize of €90 million, which is the equivalent to £79 million.
This win is the largest prize pay-out for any online gambling company in the world, and the biggest pay-out for Lottoland in its five-year history.
The prize funds will be paid out through Lottoland’s industry leading insurance model, where its subsidiary, Fortuna PCC, uses a series of financial instruments including Insurance Linked Securities and collateralised re-insurance to guarantee top prizes.
Fortuna was established in September last year, and is regulated by Financial Services Commission (FSC) in Gibraltar and EIOPA (European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority).
Lottoland is the only gaming company to have established its own insurance company – holding itself up to the highest standard with regards to industry best practice and transparency.
Lottoland’s tried and tested risk management structure has already made several multi-millionaires, but this record breaking win eclipses them all.
The winner Christina, a 36-year-old cleaner from Berlin, had put a bet on the EuroJackpot jackpot via her mobile. Her mother chose the five lucky numbers (14, 19, 21, 30, 32) and the two Euro numbers (4 and 7) which matched and bagged her this record breaking win.
She must be one of the luckiest Lottoland players on record as she only registered on her mobile two weeks ago, won €8.60 on her first bet and then the life changing jackpot the following week.
On her big win, she said “I’ve always wanted to travel and visit new countries and places – the USA has always been at the top of my list and now I can plan a trip from the East to the West coast in a camper van. I can’t wait!”
