Scottish man, Mr L, wins £643,000 casino jackpot with Lottoland

Lottoland has announced that one lucky player has scooped up a mind-blowing €750,177 (£643,472) jackpot, setting the record for its largest ever casino prize awarded.

Identified as Mr L, the winner is a 64-year-old Scottish national, now residing in Gozo, Malta. Mr L hit the Jumbo Jackpot while playing the game Zeus Lightning Power Reels.

On hearing the news that he’d hit the Jumbo Jackpot, Mr L said: "I was extremely surprised, one minute I am playing the slot and all of a sudden you get the jackpot wheel and it stops on the Jumbo Jackpot - and for a second I thought, oh that just can’t be true."

Originally born and living in Scotland, Mr L and his late wife visited Gozo on holiday and, enchanted by the island, decided to stay and enjoy the sunnier climate. He has been a Lottoland player for over four years, initially opening his account to participate in international lotteries.

The winner now plans to use his newfound fortune to purchase a new property for himself. Additionally, he intends to treat his son, ensuring the winnings benefit his family.

Mr L is Lottoland’s second Scottish jackpot winner in recent years, preceded by one lucky chef back in 2021 who won £1,000,000 on a ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ scratchcard.

Lottoland’s Group CEO, Nigel Birrell said: “We are absolutely delighted for Mr L and proud to have facilitated this monumental win. This unprecedented victory highlights Lottoland's commitment to providing exceptional opportunities and experiences for its players.’’

The Jumbo Jackpot is part of Lottoland's exclusive Jackpot Overdrive feature, which offers its players additional opportunities to win substantial prizes when playing selected Casino games, including a Daily Jackpot that is guaranteed to drop before 11pm each day.
